Pont-Croix is a small rural town built on the southern slope of the Lanneon hill overlooking the valley of the river Goyen, at about 32 km from Quimper and 25 Km from Pointe du Raz, in Brittany. The town, which dates back to the 11th century, is built in the form of an amphitheatre with houses and gardens lying harmoniously close to the beautiful Romanesque church dedicated to Notre-Dame-de-Roscudon. In the course of time Pont-Croix has been home to craftsmen and clerics and wealthy merchants playing their sea trade with Spain.
