The Event

The Battle of the Nations was fought at Leipzig (Saxony, Germany) on 16–19 October 1813, between the Allied forces and the French army of Napoleon. The battle involved over 600,000 soldiers and resulted in the victory of the Coalition and its later invasion in France, which dethroned Napoleon in 1814.

The Napoleonic reenactment charity event commemorating the Battle of the Nations was founded in England in 2010, soon growing into an annual tradition. The event unites reenactors from the groups from England and other European countries, representing Allied and French armies, who place their bivouacs and prepare for the great battle reenactment. The public can also enjoy the spectacular performances of the drummers, pipers and fifers.
